Fun Facts
After the successful first show, even though the Pakistan Navy had announced the dates of the second show, the Pakistan Naval Defence Show was discontinued because the Chief of Army Staff wanted to launch a combined show for all three services — army, airforce and navy. The new show was called IDEAS. The inspiration behind IDEAS was the Pakistan Naval Defence Show.
The navyshow.com website was launched in 1998 — remember these were the early days of the internet and this was Pakistan's first trade show that had its own domain/website.
The NavyShow was the first show to be held at the Karachi Expo Centre. Actually, the structure wasn't ready and makeshift arrangements had to be made for power, water and airconditioning. Airconditioners used for submarines that are parked onshore were brought in to cool the exhibition hall.
